Now, we can finally get to learn to stitch. First, you must learn how to get your thread to stay on your project. You probably think this is done with a knot, but it isn’t. Knots will cause bumps when you frame or mount your finished project. The best way to secure your floss is to stitch over the tail.
You can see how I’ve stitched over to secure the starting stitch in this reel. This may be done with a complete first stitch as I’ve done or with the row of slanted stitches for a row of “X’s”.
