Finally, we get to sew a row of stitches!
The important thing to remember is that your stitches must be consistent. They must begin and end the same way. Make sure the first diagonal of your stitches all go in the same direction. Then, return across the row with diagonals that all go in the other direction.
Proper tension is also key. Make sure you pull your thread taut but not tight. You should not pull the floss so tight that the aida is distorted in any way. In turn, you should make sure that your stitches are not too loose. I usually pull my stitches until I feel the floss stop moving. This takes a delicate hand. Finesse the stitches.
I will have a tutorial on reading patterns up soon that will go into more detail about how to decide where on the pattern to find a row of stitches.
Remember, it may take some practice; however, you CAN do this! Keep going!
